Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ learning difficulties in understanding Fiqh material in grade 9 MTsN 2 Wonogiri, with a focus on three research discussions: difficulties faced by students in understanding Fiqh material, Factors that cause learning difficulties in students, teachers’ efforts in overcoming student learning difficulties in Fiqh material. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observations, and questionnaires involving students and teachers. The results of the study show that students have difficulty understanding the terminology of Fiqh, applying concepts in daily life, and experiencing confusion when facing exam questions. Factors that cause difficulties include a lack of motivation to learn, monotonous teaching methods, and a lack of support from the environment. Teachers’ efforts to overcome these difficulties include the application of interactive learning methods, such as group discussions and the use of engaging learning media, as well as providing additional guidance to students. The impact of this research is expected to provide insight for educators in designing more effective teaching strategies, so that students’ understanding of Fiqh material can increase significantly.
