Abstrak

This study aims to determine the relationship between perceptions of father and mother democratic parenting on self-confidence in adolescents. The subjects of the study were late teens as many as 96 college students and high school students, aged 18-23 years. The data collection tool uses a scale, namely the perception of father and mother democratic parenting and the self-confidence scale in adolescents. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis technique. Based on the results of data analysis, the correlation coefficient R was 0, 370 (p < 0.01). This shows that there is a positive relationship between perceptions of father and mother democratic parenting and self-confidence in adolescents. The hypothesis proposed in this study was accepted. The coefficient of determination (R2) obtained = 0.139, meaning that the perception of democratic parenting fathers and mothers in this study was able to contribute 13.9% to self-confidence in adolescents. This also confirms the effect of other variables not examined in this study of 81.1%.
