Abstrak

This research aims to determine students' understanding of basic counseling skills in the individual counseling class of the Islamic education counseling guidance study program STIT Ihsanul Fikri Magelang. This research is a population study, that is, the research subjects were taken from the total number of individual counseling classes, totaling 30 (thirty) people. The data collection technique used in this research was a questionnaire. Data analysis in this research uses descriptive statistical analysis with percentage techniques, namely statistics that function to describe or provide an overview of the object being studied. The results of this research show that students' understanding of basic counseling skills in individual counseling classes is in the high category. This means that most students understand the basic counseling skills well and implement them in individual counseling practice. Understanding basic counseling skills as a basis for training and practical counseling experience for students before becoming guidance and counseling teachers at school. Future researchers are expected to be able to develop and research different variables but are related to the abilities that guidance and counseling teachers must have as prospective guidance and counseling teachers in schools.
