Guidance and counseling teachers or school counselor apart from carrying out their role as a substitute for parents of students at school also play a role in student development. Attachment relationship (attachment) that will help them in a socio-emotional context, including in the formation of coping strategies. This study is intended to analyze the attachment between students and counseling teachers at Ihsanul Fikri Boarding School in forming coping strategies. This study is a qualitative research with a case study approach. Data was collected by means of interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis is done by grouping, reducing, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that research subjects built secure attachmentswith the guidance and counseling teacher or school counselor. This secure attachment helps them have a coping strategy which is good, although in some situations the subject still needs help in overcoming the problem at hand.
